SHORT DESCRIPTION
Age of Empires II Gold Edition is a real-time traditional strategy game. It is an incredible game that will give you hours of fun. The game covers a 1000-year period from the fall of the Roman Empire through to the Middle Ages. There are thirteen civilisations and you are the leader of one of them. You have to vanquish the other twelve by taking a global view of the whole playing ground. You are the leader and as such you must lead your people to final victory by using military, economic and alliance strategies. You will have to train your armies in the art of war; you can use your cavalry and infantry battalions to wage war on your rivals. You will also have to bring wealth and prosperity to your people by opening new markets and consolidating a dynamic and fertile economy. As you can see this game provides hours and hours of fun.

works great on XP. no color issues. And great installer too. contains patches. everything every patch and both game installed at the same time and no crack needed. thank you very much.

There is solution for bad colors issue, which works for me fine: run the game, then minimize it, run task manager, end explorer process, and then everything in the game will be fine.
To run explorer again select in tast manager menu File->New task and type "explorer".

It does bring 2 icons to the desktop. One for the game one for the expansion. I was playing last night. It's there and works.

just me or is the grass made up of millions of tiny red and green pixels? and water purple ones, maybe my computer? but im pretty sure a toaster could run AoE

Some users report this "bad color issue" unfortunately. You are not alone.

FIX: If running Win7/Vista/ simply right click your desktop go to "Personalize" change your Theme to "Windows Classic" close the window, Right clcik your desktop once more this time go to "Screen Resolution" and leave that window open, (You dont have to change your Resolution) you can minimize the window or just leave it up, DO NOT close.. this will fix the Red/Green dots and purple water. Hope it helps!!
